Virginia Neighbors Whitmire

Virginia Neighbors Whitmire, 72, passed away peacefully at her happy place, the lake house. She was surrounded by family and friends. Virginia was born on December 27, 1948 in Alexander City, Alabama. She was the third of four children of Alma and Robert Neighbors. Virginia was a caring, loving, and creative woman. She always knew how to cook, decorate anything, or knock down a wall in a house. She was actively involved in the Junior League of Birmingham and Triangle Garden Club. She was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. Virginia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bryant Andrew Whitmire, Jr.; daughters, Courtney (Robert) Files and Betsy (Joseph) Clevenger; grandchildren, Anna Lacey Files and Virginia Grace Files, Amelia Grace Clevenger and Wyatt Hardy Clevenger; brother, Robert Neighbors; sisters, Gale Mayfield and Nancy Womack. She is preceded in death by son, Andrew Robert Whitmire and her parents, Robert and Alma Neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
