She was born on November 16, 1928, to the late Claude and Bertha Choate. Jo was the beloved wife of Jim Green and mother of Pam Summerlin, Mike Green, and Janet Miller. She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, homemaker, and worker in the retail sector. Jo was the oldest attending living member of Pinson United Methodist Church.
Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Green; her daughter, Janet Miller; sister, Claudia House; and brother-in-law, Charles House.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pam Summerlin; son, Mike Green; grandchildren, Kyle Summerlin (Kathi); Michael Green (Kristin); Clark Green (Anna); Spencer Green (Dakota); and Nolan Miller; great-grandchildren, Kyla Summerlin (Cole) and Karah Summerlin; Kyle (Ally) Hurston; Courtney Hurston; and great-great-grandchild, Aubree with soon to arrive great-great-grandchildren, Mason and Rhett. Also surviving her is her sister, Zana Hill (Ellis) along with special sister-in-law, Grace “Boots” Green.
Visitation will be held at Pinson United Methodist Church on Monday, July 29, 2019, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Pastor Joe DeWitte officiating. Burial will follow at Marvin’s Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pinson United Methodist Church.
