BEALS, W. RUSSELL JR., age 69, of Birmingham, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard R. Sr. and Elizabeth Beals. He is survived by his special friend, Charlotte Burdette; son, Carl Beals (Jessie); daughter, Rebecca Beals (Lee Scott); brother, George Beals; grandchildren, Ayrin Beals, Elizabeth Beals, Isabella Beals and Thomas Scott. Russell graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1960, The University of Alabama with a degree in electrical engineering (however he was a lifelong Auburn Tiger), and Birmingham School of Law. He retired from Alabama Power after 25 years and then pursued a career in law and business. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 12-2 PM with a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens beginning at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bruno’s Cancer Center at St. Vincent’s.
