William E. “Bill” Bennett Jr., age 86, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born September 25, 1934 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Bill graduated from the University of Alabama with a Mechanical Engineer Degree and went on to work for Westinghouse Lighting which eventually became Phillips Lighting. He served in the Naval Air Reserves; a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bryant; and a life member of the Master Gardners.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William E. Bennett Sr. & Patten “Pat” Colyer Bennett and a brother, Peter Lee Bennett.
Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Stisher Bennett of Bryant; three sons, Bart Bennett (Leslie) of Benton, William E. Bennett III (Jeana) of Meridian, Mississippi, and Michael Lee Bennett (Libby) of Sheridan; two sisters, Nancy Bennett Atkins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Patsy Bennett Cope of Mobile, Alabama; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
A graveside service for William will be held Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 2:00 AM to 2:30 AM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, AL 35211.
