Wilma V Jaco

Wilma W. Jaco, 97, of Trussville, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. The family will receive friends at Ridout’s in Trussville on Wednesday, September 10, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Turah and Allen Wilks; her beloved husband, Fred Jaco; her son Donald Jaco; her daughter, Deborah Jaco Poteete; and her sister, Shirley Shelton. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Vicki Jaco; grandchildren, Eric Poteete, Clint Poteete (Lindsey), Hollie Davis, and Valarie Lonergan (Bart); and great-grandchildren, Tori Riley (Lucas), Deborah Lonergan, Sarah Lonergan, Natalie Davis, and Sydney Davis. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

While she may have been small in stature, at just 4 feet 7 inches, Wilma had a heart full of love and kindness. She was known for her gentle spirit and genuine goodness. She could talk on the phone for hours, keeping close connections with her family and friends through warm conversations. Her home was always filled with sweet treats, which she kept well-stocked and loved to share with those around her.

She and her husband, Fred, built a life together not only at home, but in business as the proud owners of Jaco Tool Company. They worked side by side for many years, pouring dedication into a company that reflected their hard work, integrity, love, and shared purpose as a team.

One of Wilma’s greatest joys was opening her home each year on Christmas Eve. This became more than a tradition; it was a celebration of love, laughter, and togetherness. Her home was truly the heart of the holidays, and memories that were created will be cherished forever.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her sweet spirit, warm heart, and the love she poured into her family and friends will forever live on in the memories we hold dear. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and quiet strength will continue to guide and inspire all those whose lives she touched.
