
Alia Baram, 34, of Bloomington died Saturday, January 11, 2014 in I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born August 31, 1979 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Abdul Karim Baram and Hoda Dehneh. She had been a nurse’s aid at Golden Living Center prior to her illness.
Survivors include her husband, Emad Ghaly of Bloomington; two sons, Abdalla Ghaly and Abd-Alrahman Ghaly both at home; a daughter, Jenan Ghaly also at home; Her parents Abdul Karim Baram and Hoda Dehneh of Bloomington; a sister, Mujahida Baram of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Mahmoud Baram of Boston, Massachusetts; and an extended family that lives in Syria, Egypt, Chicago, and New Hampshire.
Alia was a member of the Islamic Center of Bloomington where she was a Sunday School Teacher; she was also an active member of the Muslim Community in Bloomington where she had established a charity, the International Development Organization.
Funeral Services took place on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in The Islamic Center of Bloomington, 1925 East Atwater, burial followed in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 6:00 PM in The Islamic Center of Bloomington.
