

Betty attended Baneker School and was a proud member of Bloomington High School class of 1950. Go Purple Panthers! She was an avid IU basketball fan and adored Bobby Knight. Betty was known for coordinating her famous fund raising style shows for over 50 years and all proceeds benefited the church and other organizations and all of the decorations were designed and crafted by Betty and her sister.After graduation, Betty was employed at RCA/Thomson where she retired after 39 years of service. Betty was a lifelong member of the Second Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age by Rev. Moses Porter and was a former member of St. Andrew Chapter #50 O.E.S. Betty was also an active member of the Bloomington YMCA and talked as much as she exercised.Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the Ramey children whom she helped raise; Tamara Ramey Carter, Shannon Ramey, Billy Ramey, and Aaron Shawn Ramey, Sr.She was preceded in death by her loving husband Russell, three brothers; Clark Deal, Leslie Deal and James Deal, Jr., and three sisters; Katie McCrimmon, Anna Pearl Hauck and Dorothy Ramey.
Friends may call at the Second Baptist Church on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 4 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service all in the Second Baptist Church, 321 N.
