Calvin grew up in North Carolina and eventually moved to Indiana where he met Shirley. He went to visit his sister Mag, and saw Shirley sitting on the couch. He looked right at her and said, "I'm gonna marry you." She responded with “Don’t I get a say so?” They got married and have been 2 peas in a pod ever since.
Calvin was called Poppy by his grandkids and he loved them fiercely. His true pride and joy were his great grand kids. When they were small enough to sit on his lap he would take them out on the mower, he even added a seatbelt to the mower so he could keep the kids safe. He would do anything for the ones he loved.
Calvin always had some sort of toy or funny picture in his pocket. He loved playing little jokes on people and doing little magic tricks. One thing he always carried with him was a squeaker, he would touch some random object with a squeaker hidden in his hand and say this is defective. It squeaks when you touch it. Then he would walk away and you could turn around and watch someone standing there trying to figure out how the item was squeaking.
