

Donald K. Toler, age 81, of Bloomington, died Thursday evening at Bloomington Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born November 12, 1929 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Calvin Curtis and Margaret (Barker) Toler. He was a retired air traffic controller where he worked at the Miami Center in Miami, Florida. He was a W.W. II and Korean War veteran and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Bloomington American Legion and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. In addition to being a loving and dedicated family man, he had a passion for watching old war movies, was an avid Colts football fan and loved visiting train museums.
He is survived by his wife, of 34 years, Treva (Peregrine) Toler, of Bloomington; his children, Cynthia Toler Demos, of Pensacola, Florida, Steven Robert Toler, of Hollywood, Florida, Tambrie K. Toler, of Bloomington and Mark Toler, wife Sally, of Bloomington; step-daughter, Crisinda Chambers Mann, husband Michael, of Riverview, Florida; seven grandchildren; Kimberly, Ryan, Steven, Kayla, Keri, Kevin and Katie, six great-grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Jean Peregrine, of Bloomington and one sister-in-law, Glenda Kosbe, of Bradenton, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Paul Scott and Phyllis and Dale Drudge, one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sally Toler, one granddaughter, Amberlyn Toler, his father-in-law, James Peregrine and one brother-in-law, Leonard Kosbe.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ned Steele officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery where the Veterans Honor Guard will perform military graveside rites. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
