Donna Lawyer

Donna Delores Lawyer, 80, of Bloomington died Thursday, April 9, 2020 in her daughter’s home. She was born June 1, 1939 in Mumfordsville, Kentucky to Gail Lawson and Gertrude Wilson Lawson. She was retired from Centox Cleaners. Survivors include her three daughters, Dana Conway of Bedford, Rhonda (John) Thomas of Guthrie and Pam Lawyer of Bloomington; five siblings, Clint Eastwood of Unionville, Mary Fitzpatrick of Bloomington, Jay (Kathy) Lawson of Indianapolis, Evelyn Lawson of Bloomington and Shirley Arthur of Bloomington; eleven grandchildren, Randall Hillenburg, Ashley Hillenburg, Keith Bryan Willoughby, Russell Willoughby, Rachel Abram, Odessa Ault, Kylah Dunigan, Heather Paton, Chris Sherrill, Kevin Sherrill and Travis Burton; 38 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Leroy Lawyer, Sr.; a daughter, Debra Lawyer; a son Russell Leroy Lawyer, Jr.; four siblings, Clarence Lawson, Marvin Lawson, Ginny Fisher and Dorothy Lawson; and four grandchildren, Michael Maxey, Charlie Elliott, Ryan Dunigan and Natalie Storms. Donna was a member of House of Prayer, Ellettsville. During her lifetime she had worked at Leonard’s Linen Service, Mechanics Laundry and Centox Cleaners as a seamstress, after retiring she went back to work as cook for various nursing homes but she always loved spending time with her family. Private graveside services will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
