

She was born on June 17, 1936 to Luther Paul and Ruth Irene (Croy) Stickels in Bloomington, Indiana. She worked at Bloomington Hospital in the Dietary Department for 26 years before retiring. After retiring, she spent as much time as she could with her family. Geneva felt that her family was the most important thing for to love, dispensed wisdom, showed compassion, and to help everyone through life. She is and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Geneva is survived by her children: A. Jean Taylor, Terre Haute, IN; Lora A (James) Rogers, Madisonville, KY, Paula S. Reed, Bloomington, IN, Kelly E. Benham, Bloomington, IN, Marty C. (Scott) Golden, Winona, MS, and Christopher S. (Tina Snyder) East, Ellettsville, IN. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren, as well as three brothers, Ralph Stickels, Robert Stickels, and Michael Stickels. She will be missed by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. With love and appreciation to April Benham, a granddaughter by marriage, but to Mom, a granddaughter of the heart, for the wonderful care she showed her during Mom’s illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Adelma Stickels, her sister in infancy, Emma Ruth Stickels, brothers: P. Allen Stickels and Donald Stickels. She was also preceded in death by three granddaughters, Brittany N. Robosky, Kendra D. Reed, and Kara J. Taylor.
Visitation will be held at Day and Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home (4150 E. 3rd Street. Bloomington, IN 47401) on Thursday, January 5th, 2022 from 9am-1pm followed by the funeral service at 1pm. Burial will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
