

Genevieve Leonida Gajewski, age 92, of Bloomington, died on March 10, 2010 at Bell Trace Health and Living Center. She was born in Chicago on September 28, 1917 of parents, John Bywalec and Agnes (Zajac) Bywalec.
She is survived by her two sons; Joseph John (Mary DiOrio) Gajewski, of Bloomington and Robert Peter (Roberta Marszowski) Gajewski, of Fishers, Indiana; four grandchildren, John Peter Gajewski (Rachel Brimmer), of State College, PA, Jeanmarie Nicole (Pat) Cannon, of Bloomington, Robert Anthony Gajewski, of San Francisco and Ellen Marie Gajewski, of Fishers and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Patrick & Emma Nicole Cannon, of Bloomington and Anna Maria Rose Gajewski, of State College, PA. She is also survived by her sister, Lottie Pasyk, of Hammond, IN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of nearly 58 years, Aloysius Peter Gajewski; two brothers, Stanley & John and two sisters, Mary & Helen (Sister Leonida). Gene was a determined, hard-working & loving wife, mother, grandma, & great-grandma.
The funeral Mass will be held at the St. Florian Catholic Church in Chicago at 10:00 A.M. (CDT) on Monday, March 22. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, March 21 at the Opyt Funeral Home at 13350 S. Baltimore Avenue, Chicago, Illinois from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. (Phone 773-646-1133)
