

Homer Farrell Jones, age 92, of Bloomington, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington. Born April 6, 1931 in Greene County, Indiana, he was the son of Charles and Eva Marie (Williams) Jones. Homer was self-employed as a carpenter and home contractor. He had attended St. Charles Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and was a Bassmaster and was a member of the Burton Woolery American Legion Post #18 in Bloomington. He was U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.
Homer is survived by his three sons, Scott (Bessie) Jones, of Bloomington, Rick (Kim) Jones, of Gillette, Wyoming and Brad (Paula) Jones, of Cicero, Indiana; two daughters, Cindy (Tim) Dunbar, of Martinsville, Indiana and Anita (Jeff) Hayhow, of Nashville, Indiana; his companion, Phyllis Jewart, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Connie June (Robertson) Jones and seven siblings, Lavern Sparks, Marvin Jones, Joan Galyan, Don Jones, Keith Jones, Sue Beck and Connie Argus.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Entombment will; follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Legion Post #18 or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
