James Paul Kany

Survivors include his mother, Ijah A. McCulley of Bloomington; his father, Jed Paul Kany and wife, Melissa of California; a sister, Kira Kany of Colulmbus; two brothers, Kilean and Liam McCulley both of Bloomington; his step father, Jason McCulley; his maternal grandparents, Ginger and Kimbrough Hall of Colorado; paternal grandparents, Jim and Dara Kany of California; an aunt, Tanya Howell; an uncle James Kany; and several other people who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Willson.

James was an amazingly talented musician playing several instruments. He helped continue the family musical tradition by teaching his younger brothers how to play guitar, piano and the drums. He was very kind hearted and could always lift your spirits with his unique sense of humor, he was also a wonderful chef, and an awesome son, brother and beloved friend.
