Born October 17, 1946 in Decatur, Indiana, he was the son of Dorris and Peggy (McAlhaney) Williamson. Jim earned an associates degree and worked many years as a computer systems analyst for NCR.
Jim enjoyed many years as a Civil War reenactor. He was a member of the 19th Indiana Company A which was part of the Iron Brigade, also known as the Black Hats. He loved the years we were able to live in the hills and woods of Brown County where we had many happy family times. He enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife that crossed through our property. He also truly enjoyed our yearly vacations on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina where he had fun drinking beer and having shrimp eating contests with his sister, Joy.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Karen Ann (Hovarter) Williamson, of Bloomington, his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and David Novak, of Bloomington, his sister, Joy Williamson, of Decatur, Indiana, his granddaughter, Adele Novak, of Bloomington, sister-in-law Jayne Langan, nephew John Langan, his wife Kim Ryan and their daughter Sierra Ryan-Langan and nephew Daniel Langan.
