Lawrence "Larry" James Hazel Jr.

Lawrence James “Larry” Hazel, Jr. age 86, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Brickyard Healthcare/Bloomington Care Center in Bloomington. Born January 20, 1938 in Bloomington, he was the son of Lawrence Hazel, Sr. and Grace (Frye) Hazel. He was a member of the Miller Drive Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. He worked in maintenance for both for Sarkes Tarzian and before retiring, worked for S.T. Semicon.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hazel, of Bloomington; three grandchildren, James Martin (Nova)Lane, Stephanie (Michael Hubbard) Lane and Mary (Chris Kindred) Lane, all of Bloomington, two great-grandchildren, Keylee Lane and Leon (Adele) Lane, both of Bloomington, one great-great grandson, Jaxon Lane, of Bloomington; two brothers, Don Hazel, of Bloomington and Harold Hazel, of Indianapolis.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Leola (Woods) Hazel; two daughters, Cheryl Lane and Teresa Hazel and one grandson, Stanley Lane, Jr.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. Interment will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
