Martin was born June 19, 1960 in Ft Wayne, Indiana, and was the first son born to Nora Scott Powell. Marty married Lauren Stevens in 1987 and they began their life together with Navy adventures. They enjoyed traveling the world with their children Christian Martin Hundley
and Alexandra Lauren Elizabeth Hundley.
Martin received his BS in Ocean Engineering (cum laude) at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland; his MS in National Security Strategy at the National Defense University, and had reached the rank of Commander in the Navy before his retirement in 2006. During his years of life he was an incredibly successful naval officer on every platform he commanded, from the USS Carl Vincent, USS Reuben James, USS Deyo, USS Long Beach, and the USS Arkansas. In 1998 he became a Foreign Area Officer and worked with Partnership Coordination Cell in the Partnership of Peace with SHAPE in Belgium. He then became the Senior Political Military Advisor with the United States Embassy as Defense Attaché to Jamaica. After retirement his main exploits dealt with energy, including nuclear plant management in Clinton, Illinois and wind plant management for Iberdrola Renewables in Wasco, OR.
His entire life is for his family first, his jobs, helping others either through security or a more personal basis. He was a man with a great sense of pride and humor that caused all around him
to be simultaneously humbled and eased by his presence.
He is survived by his wife, Lauren Stevens Hundley of The Dalles, OR; son Christian Martin Hundley of Ann Arbor, Michigan; daughter Alexandra Hundley of Bloomington-Normal, Illinois; mother Nora Scott Powell of Bloomington, Indiana; brother Neal Carboneau of LaFayette, Indiana and sister Angela Arata of Woodbridge, Virginia; plus many sister and brother-in-laws
and nieces and nephews from around the country.

Burial with full military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M., February 22, 2011 at
