After the death of her husband in 1988 Maryann traveled extensively abroad and in the States, satisfying her interest and curiosity of distant places. She had only one regret of not visiting the Russian Palaces and Art Museums.
Though quiet and easy going person, she had a flair for adventure. In her seventies she went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, rode a gondola in the Alps, flew over the Alaskan glaciers, landed a helicopter on Mt. Hood in New Zealand, went down in a submarine, up in a balloon, rode in a 1944 four-seat aero plane. She loved hats and often wore bright colored clitches. Her love and interest in her family and friends and her family occupied much of her later years.
