Maxine Lung, age 98, of Metamora, Illinois, formerly of Bloomington, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora. Born October 4, 1927 in West Fork, Indiana, she was the daughter of Arthur Roscoe and Goldie (Goldman) Land. Maxine worked for 35 to 36 years at Indiana Bell Telephone Company where she was an Operator and later a Dial Assignment Official. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Crossroads United Methodist Church.
Maxine is survived by her two loving daughters of Metamora, Illinois; Rita Lung and Barbara Sue (Randy) Waldrip.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George A. Lung and her son, Ralph A. Lung.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Ray New officiating. Family and friends will gather from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the chapel.
