Nathan, an Air Force veteran, was preceded in death by his father, John Roger Hardy; grandparents Dale and Vada Hardy; aunts Betty Jean Chambers and Marjorie Ann Butcher; and uncle Guy Edward Hardy. He often said his Mamaw and Papaw, along with their children, were the best people he knew.
He is survived by aunts Joan Long and Ruth Griggs; siblings Anthony Todd Hardy; Jay Hardy and Caree Jent; and "framily" member Barbara Dorman.
Nathan had a compassionate heart. An avid IU sports fan, he enjoyed IU football games, a tradition started by his father. He also loved the Andy Griffith Show and his favorite restaurant was the Mayberry Café.
Nathan cherished his dogs, Evie, Harley, and especially Bella, his "heart dog."
He is reunited in Heaven with Mamaw, Papaw, Dad, beloved aunts and uncle, and his puppies. Rest in peace with a Mayberry state of mind.
Donations in Nathan’s memory may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 1710 North Kinser Pike, Bloomington, IN.
