

Norma E. Floyd, age 81, of Bloomington, died Monday afternoon at Garden Villa Health Care Center in Bloomington. Born August 15, 1931 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of John Henry and Hazel Louise (Empson) Whitesitt. She was retired, but had worked as a secretary and receptionist for opthalmologist Dr. Way. She loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her husband, Robert, loved to travel and to do photography. She was a charter member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship and also supported many mission projects throughout her life.
She is survived by her two children, Carol Bland (Steve Hendrickson), of Bloomington and Roger (Brenda) Floyd, of Ellettsville; six grandchildren, Max (Shannon) Bland, Robert (Heather) Bland, Jason (Trisha) Bland, John Floyd, Rebecca (Austin) Baumgartner and Rachel (Tommy) Allcock and eleven great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Riley, Cameron, Arie, Dylan, Grace, Eva, Hayden, Stella, Lexy, and Lily.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in April 2008, Robert Eugene Floyd, to whom she married on April 26, 1947.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:30 P.M. at Day Funeral Home with Rev. David Wigington officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
