Raymond Earl Taylor, 85, of Bloomington passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in the comfort of his home. Raymond was a long time resident of Monroe County born on February 5, 1940 to Sam and Violet (Van Dusan) Taylor. Raymond had been retired for over two decades from being a truck driver but has always been a full time fisherman.
Raymond leaves behind his wife, Judy (Robertson) Taylor, his siblings Rodney (Virginia), Thelma, Francis, Kenny (Donna), grandson Brady (Aleksandra), three great grandchildren (Mia, Ava, Eli), his son-in-law Brad and his son Alex. Raymond also leaves behind a community of family and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Harlen and Roy Gene, and his daughter, Lisa Bowlen.
Raymond is a man who was known for his character and loyalty. His family and friends meant the world to him and he always made sure they felt supported while squeezing in a trip or two to the lake to fish in between.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 11-2pm with funeral services to follow at 2pm at Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Burial will follow at Knightridge Cemetery.
