Richard V. Dalton, age 67, of Bloomington, passed away Monday afternoon at his residence surrounded by his loving family, his sister, Portia Samuels and his best friend, Sam Collins. Richard was born January 5, 1947 in Mooresville. He grew up in Brooklyn, Indiana. He was a skilled mason and retired from the Indiana University Health Center.
He is survived by his three children, one sister, Portia Samuels, of Brooklyn, Indiana; his best friend, Sam Collins, of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, including his favorite granddaughter, Sabrina Isom and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Delorus Joan (Johanningsmeier) Dalton, on December 2, 2012.
There will be no services or visitation. Burial of his remains will be in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Martinsville at a later date.
