

Virginia Lue Cowden, 64, of Bloomington died Thursday, March 24, 2016 in I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital. She was born April 9, 1951 in Driver Arkansas to John G. Boyd and Terry Thurman Boyd. She had been employed for over 20 years at Otis Elevator.
Survivors include her children, Murry Ross (Nicole) of Columbus, Rockie Ross-Mason of Irvine, CA, Tiffany Clark of Lithonia, GA, Nakila Ross (Terry Gould) of Lakeland, FL and Nicholas Ross (Shanda) of Bloomington; siblings, Mary Branch, Calvin Boyd, Emma Jean Billins, Ruby Swift, Maxine King, Naomi Fuller and Flora Thomas; grandchildren, Brittany Ross, Ashley Ross, Keing Ross, Shatara Ross, Jada Ross, London Price, Domnick Ross, Ellisston Ross, Kaytana Ross, Shinem Ross, Murry Ross, Markey Ross, Zoey Katona, London Ross, Paris Ross, Lyric Jackson, Alexis Jackson, Olivia Jackson, Iza Jackson, Zara Jackson and Shaila Gould; great grandchildren, Rajan Ross, Nevah Gambles, Kaedence Gambles; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Johny Boyd.
Virginia was a long time member of Second Baptist Church, where she been an usher. Other interests included working with special needs children at Binford Elementary School and at Stonebelt, she loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, she loved eating at Cracker Barrel and meeting with her prayer group.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Second Baptist Church, 321 North Rogers St., with Rev. Dr. Bruce Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 1, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM also in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
