

Wayne D. “Cheese” Deckard, age 44, of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born February 7, 1967 in Bloomington, he was the son of Leslie and Clara (Sipes) Deckard. Wayne loved the outdoors, he loved fishing and hunting. He worked as an appliance technician at Morrison’s Appliance. He was dearly loved by his many family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Howe, of Heltonville; his father and step-mother, Leslie and Nancy Deckard, of Bloomington; his mother and step-father, Clara and Tony Arwine, of Bloomington; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Taffie Deckard, of Smithville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Milly and Steve Thacker, Ann and Tom Godwin and Gloria and Tim Langley, six nieces, five nephews, two great-nieces and two great-nephews. Also survived by his special friend, “Sugar” the dog. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mable Smith.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 P.M. Friday at Burgoon Community Church with Rev. Harold Godsey officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Burgoon Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the church.
