William “Bill” Joseph Terhune, 62, of Bedford died Monday, March 11, 2019 in his home. He was born February 18, 1957 in Bloomington to Clifford Terhune and Rose Wilber Terhune. He was retired from Indiana University. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kimberly Terhune of Bedford; a sister, Ruth (Larry) Lewellen-Whitt of Bloomington; a brother, Danny (Debbie Houshour) Terhune of Bedford; a half-sister, Judy (Ron) Freeman of Solsberry; a brother-in-law, Jeff Rudkin of Bloomington; a sister-in-law, Kris (Arnie) Tongate of Inverness, Florida; a mother-in-law, Judy Rudkin of Bloomington; ten nieces and nephews, Shelley (Gary) Fowler, Tina Dixon, Ben Terhune, Justice Edwards, Brian Lentz, Brad Lentz, Michelle Kelley, Andy Tongate, Marty Tongate and April Crider; and eleven great nieces and nephews, Andrew Crouch, Dustin Crouch, Tabatha Trinkle, Isaiah Shake, Josh Lentz, Austin Lentz, Alexi Lentz, Holley Grubb, Jake Grubb, McKynzie Miller and Keegan Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, George and Ethel Terhune; maternal grandparents, Rolla and Henrietta Wilber; two sisters, Margaret Terhune and Danya Terhune; a brother, George Terhune; a niece, Marsha Terhune; a nephew, Travis Crider; and his father-in-law, Jerry Rudkin. Bill was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ; and was a 1975 Graduate of Bloomington High School South. After 35 years of service, Bill retired from the Maintenance Department at Indiana University on February 18, 2019. Since childhood Bill loved animals and rescued many animals in his lifetime. He leaves behind two of his favorite cats, Chewy and Midnight. He was an avid coin and tool collector, he loved car shows and was so proud of his 1969 VW “Herbie” that he had restored. He spent many hours working with electronic components and was excellent at building computers and enjoyed shooting skeet. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, March 14th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, March 15th at 1:00 PM with Brother Pat Arthur officiating, burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
