William Rex Whaley

September 1, 1929 – November 14,2012

William Rex Whaley, 83, of Bloomington, Indiana went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, November 14, 2012. He was born September 1, 1929 in Bloomington, Indiana to the Late Lyle and Hazel (Hudson) Whaley. Rex enjoyed traveling, music, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Whaley and Kathy (Roger)Stout; Grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Whaley and Shauwana Whaley; Great Grandchildren Amber, Cauy, and Callie Jo; Great Great Grandchild, Bryson; Brother, Otis (Myrna) Whaley, and Sister, Betty (Russell) Van Deventer; and Sister-in-law, Nora Whaley.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his Wife, Margaret Alice Whaley; Son, Charles Wesley Whaley; Brothers, Robert and Loarn Whaley; and Sister, Ellen Chambers.

The family wants to especially thank Betty for her loving help and compassion for their Dad the last few weeks he was at home, and a special thank you and appreciation to Vista Care and Garden Villa for their kindness and caring.

Service will be officiated by Pastor Steve VanBokern of Lifeway Baptist Church, on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 10:00 am at Day Funeral Home with a committal to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, November 16, 2012 from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
