Teri was born in Seattle, WA to Laverne and Ronald Hendry on January 25th, 1954. She attended Shorecrest High School and graduated in 1972. Later, she went on to earn her B.A. in English from the University of Washington.
Teri’s life mission was caring for the people she loved most, her family. Nothing mattered more to her than making sure they were cared for, supported, and surrounded by love. Nani was loved deeply by her grandchildren, who always looked forward to her hugs, laughter, and time together. She especially loved celebrating holidays and often cooked far more food than anyone could possibly eat. She cherished traveling to Hawaii and the memories made there with family. Teri was also incredibly talented at sewing, creating everything from beautiful wedding dresses to countless Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren. A cheerleader in high school, Teri carried that spirit throughout her life, cheering Frank and the Vikings on from the sidelines for over 30 years. She also cheered for her friends, family, and grandchildren, always celebrating their accomplishments. In 2015, Teri was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, yet she faced it with incredible courage and determination, overcoming the odds. Her fierce loyalty, perseverance, and love for her family were truly unmatched.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Frank; her children, Mickey (Jackie), Kati (Eric); her beloved grandchildren, Lillian, JP, Henry, Harlyn, Grayson; her mother, Laverne; her sister, Gloria (John); and her brothers, Ronald (Julie) and Larry. She was preceded in death by her son, Erik, and her father, Ronald.
Funeral service will be held at Holyrood Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24th at 12:00pm. Reception will follow at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in honor of Teri. Supporting this cause reflects Teri’s wishes and helps advance research, advocacy, and care for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
