Anne McCollom, age 58, passed away November 2, 2021 in Erie, Colorado. She was born March 24, 1963, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Paul and Eleanor Seaman. Anne was born and raised in Honolulu and moved to the mainland to attend the University of Colorado in Boulder. She graduated with a degree in Journalism in 1985. Throughout her career, Anne worked in Journalism, Hospitality, Education, Seminars, and Professional Development. She is survived by her two children, Taylor Young and Hayley Young.
Anne had a passion for community and devoted her time to improving the spaces around her. She was a founding member of Peak to Peak charter school, served on the PTA of Boulder Country Day School, and was a leader on Delta Gamma’s Housing Corporation. Anne was also a devout member of Calvary Bible Church and enjoyed the strong community she had in Boulder. She found joy in creating and nurturing gardens, both for her family’s home and for the neighborhoods in which she lived. Anne also had a passion for creating welcoming and joyous spaces inside the home, often volunteering to transform living spaces for her family and friends.
Anne was a loving and dedicated mother, trading many years of a “traditional” career to raise her children full-time. She encouraged her children to pursue their passions, attending countless soccer tournaments and tennis matches near and far to cheer them on. Anne’s love for her children was fierce, and she will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at Calvary Bible Church, 3245 Kalmia Ave, Boulder on November 16th at 1pm.
