How very sad I was to hear of Doug's passing. Was privileged to work for the Cosman family for 30 years. Knew Doug as a youngster for many a year . Maren and family, I am soo sorry for your loss

We are heartbroken to hear of Doug's passing. May the love of God, family and friends and the wonderful memories you share comfort you during this difficult time. As you know, Joe and I always looked forward to when you all would visit Florida. We will always cherish those memories. The video reflects how much Doug enjoyed his life with you, Alex and Ava. I'm absolutely heartbroken that Doug left us at such a young age.  I worked with Doug at Matchlogic from 1996-2001 and he was a wonderful, highly intelligent, funny, considerate and kind friend.  The world is sad to say good bye to you Doug.  We will miss you always.  Love, Patty

When Doug first walked in to my office in Silicon Valley, I met a quiet and unassuming guy with a passion for a particularly tough technical problem. As we bonded over nerdy ad technology, I soon realized that he was a gifted data designer, and had used that gift to solve a technical problem that had eluded some of the industry's brightest minds for literally decades. I was lucky to join him at Yieldex, and we worked together over 7 years to make Yieldex the success that it is today.

What I didn't know at the time, but quickly grew to appreciate, was how devoted he was to spending time with his family. I loved his stories of his summer camping trips in the RV. In Silicon Valley, success sometimes seems to be measured by the number of hours you work each week, but Doug never fell into that trap. He managed to build an incredibly successful company while still having quality time at home. He artfully combined time with family, quality-of-life, and business success, in a way that very few people can do.

So for me, when I am asking myself an entrepreneurship question, I think - well, for entrepreneurship, I think: What would Elon Musk do. :-) But when I'm asking myself a question about balancing time with my family against time at work, I ask myself: What would Doug do? How would Doug bring his special ability to be great at both work and family to this question? That gift is one of the many wonderful ways that Doug touched my life, and I truly believe his spirit will live on in all of us.

Especially for Alex- so sorry for your loss. It'd been a few years since I'd seen him, but he was a fun, kind man.

I knew and remember Doug most clearly from the time he spent at UCLA at Phi Kappa Psi and his music career with The Makers in New Wave LA circa 79-81. He was quite the Renaissance man, rock star, family guy, computer scientist, entrepreneur. I recall visiting Doug and Maren during my honeymoon in May 1987 in Ft. Lauderdale and marveling at what a lucky guy Doug was to meet (and soon marry) someone like Maren! He told me at some point that he had spent so much time in flat Florida that he needed to settle in Colorado which was about as removed from flat as one could find. He was a great guy, dad and fraternity brother and will be greatly missed. My condolences to Maren and the family.

We have had the good fortune of knowing Doug as teammates, counterparts, industry colleagues, advisors and friends for more than 19 years. Doug was always a pleasure to be around - whether it was professionally or socially.  His thoughtful and witty take on things over dinner and drinks were moments that we relished, and his leadership in the workplace cherished. There is not one minute of the time we spent with Doug that we would trade for anything else.  We are so sorry for the loss.

Doug was a genuinely fine human being in every way. I was honored to know him and work with him.

I feel very fortunate to have known Doug and work with him at Yieldex.  He was a brilliant thinker and more importantly, a great person.  A true joy to be around. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I was fortunate to know Doug through my marrage to David Kay. Doug had a heart of gold. I sure have fun memories backpacking with him and the Sabatini's. You will be missed...

Doug and I worked together many years ago at MatchLogic.  In addition to being super smart and personable, he exuded honesty and sincerity in a way few people I have ever worked with have.  Doug was also tenacious when it came to solving technology problems.  I was so happy for him when I heard that he created a solution for a problem that we wrestled with for many years and turned it into a successful company.  I did not have the pleasure of meeting his family, but I want them to know that even for those of us that only knew Doug professionally, he was in a class by himself.  My sincere condolences for your loss.

I will never forget meeting Doug for the first time, when I joined Yieldex.  I flew from NYC to Boulder to meet with Doug and get his vision for the company.    

Doug took the time to not only share the product vision and view of the market, but also take me out for dinner, drinks and a night on  the town.   As usual, Doug went above and beyond the call of duty. Doug's generosity, friendliness and willingness to help was a characteristic the entire Yieldex company would echo.  It wasn't just me, Doug was like this with everyone he met.   

Doug's vision for Yieldex was critical in building the company that was ultimately acquired, and he truly was a market visionary, who truly cared about the product, the same way that he cared for his other colleagues.  

Thank you Doug for building an amazing company with Yieldex, and thank you for 'always' being there.  You will be missed and remembered always for making an indelible impact on the internet advertising industry.

Doug and I spent many hours, days, weeks and years together sharing everything.  He loved visiting the Sierra Nevada and trout fishing with me and other friends I had grown up with.  He was one of the most fun loving and humorous of my Brothers of Phi Kappa Psi at UCLA.  We all looked forward to his rock and roll bands' gigs in Hollywood, or wherever they would play.  I miss him dearly.  Rest in peace my dear Brother.

Doug and I became friends in Los Angeles in 1979, both of us transplants from the east coast. I will always remember Doug's quick wit; he always maintained a great sense of humor. Doug also possessed extraordinary insight into the complexities of life and nature and often shared these views over many engaging conversations. He was kind, intelligent and a wonderful spirit.  He was a great husband to his wonderful wife Maren and an exceptional farther to his beautiful children Alex and Eva.

Doug was as insightful as he was genuinely nice. I was always impressed how humble, successful and yet made so much time for family.  Camp Doug was what we called it when he took the summer off to be with family. Our thoughts and prayers to his family. What a loss.

To the Cosman family, I would like to give my most sincere condolences for your loss. Although I only met Charles a few times, I know that he was a wonderful person and a great father. He always had a smile on his face and was proudly cheering on his daughter, my friend Ava.
To my incredible friend Ava, I love you so much, and I am extremely sorry that this has happened. You're such a fun, kind, caring, and passionate person, and I hope you know that if you need absolutely anything, I am here for you.
