Everyone that knew Doug would agree that he was a true humanitarian. In all aspects of his life, he strived to understand and help others. His kind and gentle ways put people at ease and his sharp mind and wicked sense of humor never failed to instill confidence in others. He was an excellent teacher, mentor and leader that touched the lives of many educators and countless students and their families.
Doug’s desire to know the human condition led him to have interests in all aspects of life. He enjoyed watching and playing sports and was the best water skier in Colorado! He loved to travel with his family and made it a priority to experience cultures in different areas of our country and abroad. He was also a huge fan of music, especially rock and roll, and the people who created it. As a young man, he worked hard and became an excellent self taught guitarist and novice on several other instruments. There was always a song in Doug’s heart!
Above all, he was a devoted father and husband who wanted us to become the best we could be. His mission was to create a safe environment where his family could love and grow to become productive members of society. He didn’t want to leave his post. He fought as hard as he could to stay so he could watch his family thrive. His deepest satisfaction was to see people succeed at what they put their minds to.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Rocky Mountain Christian Church in Frederick on Friday January 27th at 9:30 am for all that want to attend.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cristmortuary.com for the Jackson family.
