Gary Clark, 67, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While he was born in “Packer Country”, he made his home in Colorado and lived in Superior for the past 29 years. After battling numerous health challenges over the years, he peacefully passed at home on February 23, 2022. Gary graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in accounting. He worked as a C.P.A. until retiring in 2017. After retiring, Gary desired to have a meaningful impact on his community. He worked hard to become a Victim’s Advocate with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, which he found highly rewarding.
Gary, better known as ‘Papa,’ was blessed in life with his amazing wife, Linda, who took on many roles. Gary and Linda were married for nearly 45 years. Gary is survived by his wife, children and their spouses, and six adoring grandchildren: Miles, Abigail, Maci, Lincoln, Cooper and Theodore. He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Phyllis Clark, his sister Maureen, brother-in-law Gary Glass, and sister-in-law Anne Spiegel.
‘Papa’ was an avid sports fan. His favorite sport was baseball, and his favorite teams were the ones his grandchildren played on. A close second was the Colorado Rockies. Family was a priority for Papa. He always looked forward to occasions where the whole family could be together. When the grandchildren were around, he was a strong Uno player and could play a mean game of War. These games often led to tears of laughter around the table.
Gary struggled with Type 1 Diabetes throughout his life. He was the blessed recipient of two kidney donations, one from his sister, Linda, and the other from his daughter-in-law, Jennifer. These precious gifts allowed Gary to have many healthy years with his family. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you consider donating to Donate Life, a cause that is very close to the family’s heart. Donations can be made at: https://www.donatelife.net/give-to-dla/
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 11:00 am. Burial will occur at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery and a reception will follow in the church hall.
