

James Gavegan, 73 of Boulder, Colorado passed away Friday, June 15, 2012. James was born November 19, 1938 in Bayonne, New Jersey to John and Eleanor (Wake) Gavegan. He married his high school sweetheart Arlene Corsino from Orange, New Jersey, and they were happily married for 43 years until her death in 2003.
He is survived by two sons, James S. Gavegan of Grand Junction, Steven M. Gavegan of Northglenn, daughter Cynthia A. Eilertsen of Erie, his sister Dale Reyes of Long Valley, New Jersey, and three Grandchildren.
James graduated from Orange High School in Orange, New Jersey, in 1956. He had a degree in engineering from the Newark College of Engineering and served in the Navy following his graduation. He was employed 30+ years at Bell Labs/AT&T and enjoyed a second career as a tax preparer with H & R Block. He spent years exploring the ocean as a dive master and kept the love of the sea in his heart. He was an avid cribbage player, lifetime bowler and coach, and passionate Bronco’s fan. He was a beloved father and friend who brought joy to the lives of many.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO., 80301. Services and Interment will be private.
