Jean Cline Burgoon

Jean Cline Burgoon died February 9, 2012 in Boulder. She was 90. Jean was born May 24, 1921 to Merle N. and Velma Rose (Stevenson) Foster in Adams, NE. She lived her early years in Nebraska graduating from high school in Wayne, Nebraska. She then attended CSU and received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1943.

She married Kenneth Cline, Sr. on December 21, 1943 in Wayne, NE. In 1946 they moved to Boulder and started the Cline family business, Cline Trout Farm. Jean was employed by Boulder Valley School District from 1955 to 1980 as a home economics teacher at Boulder High, an adult education coordinator and as a guidance counselor at Centennial Jr. High. In 1967 Jean received her Master’s Degree from CU. In 1981 she moved to Sun City, AZ. After the death of her husband Kenneth in 1985, Jean married David F. Burgoon on October 26, 1986. She moved back to Boulder in 2000 and resided at Frasier Meadows until her death. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and volunteered at BCH auxiliary. Jean was a master quilter, was active in many quilting clubs and taught quilting. She also enjoyed square dancing and traveling.

She is survived by sons Kenneth E. Cline, Jr.(Rebecca) of Longmont, Thomas F. Cline (Helen) of Carson, ND, Steven E. Cline (Peggy) of Boulder; 2 grandsons Thomas F. Cline, Jr. of Pierre, SD, Dean A. Cline (Holly) of Miller, SD; 3 great granddaughters Ellie Ann, Megan Marie, and Riley Elise Cline of Miller, SD; sister Phyllis Tingstad of Green Valley, AZ, and special friend Richard Earl of Lincoln, NE; stepdaughters Sandra Burgoon of Westwood, MA, and Pat Maring of Woodbind, MD She is preceded in death by her husbands, and one sister Elizabeth.

Memorial service will be held 10am Monday, February 13, 2012 at Frasier Meadows Mountain Vista Room North. 350 Ponca Pl., Boulder, CO. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder. The family requests that memorial donations be made to either Frasier Meadows Thanksgiving Fund, 350 Ponca Place, Boulder CO 80303 or to Agape Hospice, 6041 S. Syracuse Way, Suite 220, Greenwood Village, CO 80111. Arrangements under the direction of Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO.
