
Scott was born December 26, 1962 in Seattle, WA to Gary Lauby and Patricia Gaffney Lauby. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kimberly.
After growing up in Sprague, WA, Scott graduated from Western Washington University in 1985 with honors, and a degree in Comparative Politics. He went on to The Ohio State University, where he received a Master’s Degree (and nearly a PhD) in Political Science with a Russian/Soviet Domestic and Foreign Policy specialty. He became fluent in Russian and for 6 years was the group rapporteur at The Dartmouth Conference.
It was in Columbus, OH that Scott met Susan, his wife of nearly 17 years. They moved to Colorado in 2001 where Scott held various Client Management positions at Global Healthcare Exchange and was recently hired on at Knowledge Factor.
Scott filled his life with a wide array of academic, musical, and athletic interests. He will be remembered most for his easy-going nature, sincerity, humor, and humility.
Scott is survived by wife Susan; sister Kristen (Kelly) Harrington; step-mother Karen Lauby; half sister Maria (Marcus) Palmer; half-brother Dan Lauby; nieces and nephews: Samantha & Megan Harrington, John, Daniel & Natasha Palmer, Trent Lauby; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 10 at 5:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church 3791 Pike Rd. Longmont, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Longmont Humane Society, 9595 Nelson Rd., Longmont, CO 80501; longmonthumane.org in memory of Scott Lauby.
