

After a lengthy illness, Lynn April Rothberg Kearney of Boulder, CO, a retired door-to-door vacuum salesperson, professional potter, English teacher, technical writer and program manager passed away surrounded by her family.
Born January 6th, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA to Sonia Gloria Kaminsky (nee Silverman) and Sidney Rothberg, she was 72.
In 1970, Lynn graduated from Northeast High School Philadelphia. She received a teaching certificate and bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University. Later, in Colorado she was second to graduate the University of Colorado Master’s Degree Technical Communications program.
She was hired by IBM in 1976 to learn copier repair on a 51-week program, scheduled to return to Pennsylvania. However, driving cross country and finally over Davidson Mesa where Boulder was nestled and surrounded by the Flatirons and snow-covered peaks of the Rocky Mountains, she knew this was where she was meant to be and spent the rest of her life here.
While at IBM, Lynn trained on repairing IBM typewriters, copiers, and disk drives. She then began her writing career, developing service manuals for both IBM hardware and software. Through her writing career, she developed and published her work on the Computer-Human Conversation Model, describing how AI, wishing to communicate with humans would need to understand and use human conversation constructs.
A talented artist and writer, Lynn created many beautiful objects d’art, including pottery, jewelry, stone cabinet knobs and fun tie dyed T-shirts selling them online as well as at art shows around Colorado. She was also a member of the Colorado Button Society.
Lynn married Michael Patrick Kearney on September 12th, 1987 in Boulder CO. Lynn was proceeded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Michael and her sons Jeffrey (Longmont) and Andrew (Longmont).
Funeral Services for Lynn Kearney will be a private event. She will be buried at Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th St, Boulder, CO 80302 in a spot with a Flatirons view.
