Mary Jane Rupp Packard of Boulder, Colorado passed away at the age of 89. Mary Jane was born in Garrison, North Dakota to Edwin R. and Vernie Rupp. She taught grades 1 through 8 in a one-room schoolhouse in Kansas before she and her mother relocated to Puyallup, WA during WWII to be closer to a brother serving in the Navy. "MJ" worked much like Rosie the Riveter at Boeing doing electrical work on wartime aircraft. While working as a temp for the IRS, she met Robert L. Packard and they married in August 1947. Mary Jane was a devoted wife and loving mother of five. She oftentimes stated how proud she was of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and of what a great life she had. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, golfing, gardening, reading, playing the piano, knitting, traveling, supporting the Broncos and working crossword puzzles. Her witty sense of humor never wavered, bringing chuckles and laughter up until her end.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Robert, three brothers and only sister. She is survived by her three sons David, Kerry and Kevin Packard, all in the Boulder area, two daughters, Donna Fagley of Albuquerque, NM and Pam Ingraham of Boulder, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, all who love and miss her dearly.
