Patrick Shanahan, whose ancestors came to Boulder County in 1862 died Monday January 9, 2017. He showed his love for the community by being a volunteer fireman with Boulder Rural Volunteer Fire District for over 21 years and being a life member of Boulder Elks Lodge. Patrick was preceded in death by George and Evelyn Shanahan, his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by Barbara Shanahan, his wife of 61 years. Their children are Velma Koch (Dave), Cheri Shanahan, Glen Shanahan (Roberta) and Keith Shanahan. The grandchildren are Felicity Friesen, Kendelle Koch, Jessica Eklof and Patrick Shanahan.
A memorial Service will be held at the Boulder Elks Lodge on Friday February 17, 2017 at 1:30 pm. Donations can be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson.
