In loving memory of Richard Frederic Spaid who passed away on November 6, 2022. He is survived by his children, Caitlin and Dustin, his former wife, Tracie Sinclair, his brother Michael Spaid and his father Frank Spaid. Richard was born August 1, 1965, in Santa Monica, California to Maureen and Frank Spaid. He moved to St. Louis with his family in 1973. Rich had many interests as a child. An unusual one was falconry. A boy next door, several years older, was training a red-tailed hawk for a time. Eventually his primary interest turned to computers. He took all of the money that he had saved for a couple of years and bought an Apple II. He attended St. Louis Priory School, an all-boys school that went from 7th grade through high school. He was very fond of the Priory, where he made many close and long-lasting friendships. He graduated from high school in 1983 and moved to Boulder, where he attended the University of Colorado Boulder, obtaining a degree in Economics. He remained in Boulder for the remainder of his life. He was an avid skier and cyclist. He was a self-taught computer programmer. He worked at BI Incorporated in Gunbarrel, where he won an Engineer of the Year award. Later, he worked for CorrLogic, a spin-off from BI. He made many friends during his time here in Boulder. He married Tracie Sinclair in 2000.
