Alice "Pinky" Reid passed away after an amazing life and journey of 94 years on Saturday June 27th., in peace with family by her side. Alice was born and raised in Cheektowaga NY, was a Veteran of the US Women's Army Air Corp. and Women's Air Force, was a multiple medal recipient, and served 2 years in Europe during the height of WWII. When she returned from the war she met her husband of over 60 years (William Reid predeceased) and relocated to Syracuse NY where she raised her Son and Daughter. She was blessed to retire at an early age to Florida to enjoy the warm weather, golfing, traveling and boating. She leaves behind a son, William Reid of Eugene OR, a Daughter, Ellen Reid-Sackett (Husband-John Sackett) of Bradenton FL, a Granddaughter Jessica Flint (Husband-Richard Flint) of Parrish FL and two Great Granddaughters, Olivia Flint and Skyler Flint. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Wednesday July 8th at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Tidewell Hospice House of Sarasota FL.
