

Jim was born in Philadelphia, PA to Arthur and Bridget Cunnien on December 14th, 1954. He grew up and spent the remainder of his life in Bradenton, FL.
Jim proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. After his service, he built a successful career and retired from Otis Elevator, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Bridget Cunnien; his father, Arthur T. Cunnien; and his sister, Wanda Bennett.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife, Myrna; four sons, Justin Cunnien, Brett Cunnien and wife Latikia, Irving Salonga and his wife Aileen, and Earl John Salonga and his wife Myleen, all of Bradenton, FL; his six grandchildren; four sisters, Terry, Gwen, Mary and Debbie; three brothers, Ronnie, Rick and Paul, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will always remember his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
Jim’s presence brought light into the lives of those around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this time.
A service to honor and celebrate Jim’s life will be held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, 833 Magellan Drive, Sarasota, FL 34243 on Friday March 14th at 10:00AM. Fr. Paul D’Angelo will officiate. In care of Robert Toale and Sons.
