

Clara Intha Duennes, daughter of Luther and Clara Harrington, was born in Houston, Mississippi on September 25, 1924 and passed away on June 28, 2023 in Bradenton, Florida. She married Fred Duennes on January 23, 1945, and he preceded her in death after 62 yrs. of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings: Hillman, Mary, George, Ann, Jenny, Lutie, Jean, Jeanette, and Don.
Intha worked as a telephone operator until her marriage and then on the family farm in Indiana where her six children were born and raised prior to moving to Florida in 1971 where she worked seasonally in the kitchen of the Pittsburg Pirates training camp.
She is survived by her children Joseph (Michelle) Duennes, Theresa (Terry) Bareither, Phyllis (Ken, dec) Collins, Janet Glendening, Suann Southwick and Annette Beesting. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including special niece Nancy O’Connor.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, Turner Classic Movies and mostly playing Euchre. She never saw a weed she didn’t pull.
Intha worked hard and loved with humor and kindness. She was stoic and humble and a huge influence on her family. She deserved all the love and respect she received from the many who will miss her so terribly.
Visitation at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave E, Bradenton on Wed, July 5 from 5 to 7pm. Mass at Our Lady of the Angels, 12905 St Rd 70 E, Lakewood Ranch on Thurs, July 6 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to Our Lady of the Angels 12905 SR 70 E, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202 with a memo to Loving Stitches (a ministry group she was an active member of for many years). Also, donations can be made to www.olangelscc.org although Loving Stitches cannot be specified online.
