
Elizabeth Drumright Byrd passed away peacefully, Friday morn, January 6, 2023; she was a "transplant" Floridian for seventy years. Elizabeth was born in San Mateo, California on October 13, 1944 to Ruby and William Drumright. They soon relocated to Wichita, Kansas, where she spent her formative years.
In 1953 the family moved to Sarasota, Florida when she was nine. She attended Alta vista elementary, Sarasota Junior High and Senior High, as well as, University of South Florida.
In 1972, she married James Richard Byrd. After his passing in 1994, she never remarried.
Her life's work included many professions, including EMR/Loral the largest electronic warfare satellite manufacturing company in the U. S., Sarasota Women’s Resource Center, Manatee Coalition for Homeless, Walmart, and Southshore Community Church.
Survivors include two beautiful daughters, Heather Kristy Sturgill and Jennifer Ann Byrd, five grandchildren; Jacob Slocum, Violet Sturgill, Zebadiah Sturgill, Zachariah Sturgill, and Taylor Martin.

A memorial service for Elizabeth was held Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Southshore Community Church, 1899 So Tuttle Ave, Sarasota, FL 34239.
