Frank Frederick Zeck Jr. (Fred) age 90 of Palmetto, Florida passed away June 29, 2015 at the Bay Pines Hospice Center. He was born in Wheatfield, Indiana on November 29, 1924 to Frank Frederick Sr and Frances (True) Zeck. On July 26, 1945 he married Shirley Hart in Michigan City, Indiana. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Kaper and son Stephen (Cheryl) Zeck, five grand children: Stacy (Greg) Cuddeback, Jeanna Kaper, William Kaper, Gregory (Xuechun) Zeck and Stephanie (Nate) Jones, along with six great grandchildren and sister Helen Pizarek.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Kenneth, and sisters Dorothy VanDam and Jane Greer.
Fred lived most of his life in DeMotte, Indiana, where he graduated from DeMotte High School and was a member of the DeMotte United Methodist Church for over 70 years. He served overseas in the army during World War II and was a charter member of the American Legion Post #440. In 1996 he was a founding member of the DeMotte Historical Society in. In 2000 he moved to Tree Lakes in Palmetto, Florida where he served in many capacities to better his community. He was known for his antiquing and furniture caning skills as well as his love of playing table games.
