

Gary A. Morris, 79, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on November 21, 2025. He was born in Plainwell, Michigan to Alan E. Morris and Betty M. (McKee) Morris on September 18, 1946. He grew up in Otsego, Michigan and served in the Navy as a radio mechanic during the Vietnam War.
Gary attended Adrian College and later earned a Master’s Degree in Business from Central Michigan University. He spent most of his career working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in offices around the country. At age 53, he achieved a lifelong goal and was awarded a JD from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA. He worked as an attorney in San Diego and Moore County, NC for many years.
Gary married Peggy Morris on March 27, 1997, in Avalon, CA. He was an excellent chef. He loved red wine and a good book. He was a frustrated golfer and a dedicated Lions fan. Gary didn’t have children but spoiled numerous animals throughout his life including his beloved Bouviers.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Deborah Hawk.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by brother Bill (Sue) Morris and nephews John, Mark, and Ben Morris of Michigan as well as brother-in-law Robert (Tina) Hawk of Arizona and Deborah’s daughter, niece Lauren Hawk of Florida. Gary also leaves behind many cousins and friends.
Private arrangements will be made at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the donor’s choice. Cremation has been handled by Robert Toale & Sons at Manasota Memorial Park.
