George Bell Scruggs, 70, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully in Lakewood Ranch, Florida on Thursday, July 21, 2022. He was born May 30, 1952, to Charles Carlton Scruggs and Greta Bell Scruggs in Pensacola, FL.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles, mother, Greta and stepson, John Nixon. George grew up in Pensacola. FL and graduated from Pensacola High School and the University of FL. He spent his career working in the family business, Krispy Kreme, in Pensacola and Destin FL.
He loved watching sports – especially the Florida Gators. He enjoyed golfing with his golf buddies, boating and relaxing by the pool with a cold beverage.
George is survived by his wife, Peg; brother, Charles “Buddy” Scruggs, (Sharon), Cedar Key, FL and nephew, Michael Villar, Gulf Shores, AL; sister, Beth Scruggs of Atlanta GA., and stepmother Pauline Scruggs, Pensacola, FL.
He also leaves two happy Papillions, Abby and Bella whom he adored.
