Jacquelyn “Jackie” Campbell Nangle of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by her family who loves her deeply. Guided in Christ, Jackie was the epitome of love, kindness, and resilience. Her dedication to family, and friends she considered family, was unwavering. The matriarch of her family, Jackie was a fixture of support, guidance, and love. She was known for her courage, her strength, her contagious laugh, and her beautiful voice, which she shared with her congregation every Sunday morning as a member of her church choir. Jackie overcame obstacles in life that few could withstand, but she never lost her love for life, her faith in God, that he would see her through anything, nor her generous spirit.
Jackie spent a majority of her adult life serving her lord and savior Jesus Christ through her church and international missionary work. Her mission work to help those less fortunate renewed her sense of purpose. Going as far as adopting a family of three in Nicaragua during one of her mission trips.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Ivy Campbell, sisters Marge, Laverne “Cissy,” Ruby “Pete”, Wilma, Wilene, and Norene. Brothers Lavone “Bubba” and James “Bud”. She is survived by her children, Donna Jeanne Wolfrey, Diana DeLayne Hoover, Donald Thomas Nelson, Jr., and daughter in-law, Gina Nelson, 8 grandchildren; Lindsey Wolfrey, DeLayne Penland, Stephanie Hoover, Bobby Hoover, Jonathan Hoover, Brittany Vagi, Thomas Wolfrey, Kaylin Wolfrey Medina, Jacquelyn Eckenrod, Destiny Wolfrey and two great-granddaughters; Bella Hoover, and Nova Smith. And we can’t forget all of her grand-pups. Although she never really cared for dogs, we all have them and she managed in her own way to show a little love to all of them; Coco Chanel Medina, Abby and Lilly Hoover, Zen, Annie, and Fig Penland, Maggie and Duke Nelson, Holly and Maddox Vagi, and Macy Eckenrod. The only thing she loved more than her family was the Florida Gators.
During this difficult time, her family finds comfort in knowing exactly where Jackie is now; with the Lord, at peace, and at home with her family in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34203, where she will be laid to rest next to her first love, Donald Thomas Nelson.
