

Jerry Lee Miller, age 78, passed away in Florida after a long illness on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born on January 29, 1943 to Etral Lee & Ella Rose Miller of Caseville, Michigan. Jerry grew up in the Caseville area. In the mid-1960's, he was drafted into the U.S. Army.
He trained for the Signal Corps and was later transferred to the 7th Army Band stationed in Stuttgart, Germany playing the tuba. After his Army discharge, Jerry proceeded to earn a B.A. degree from Ferris State University and an M.A. degree from Central Michigan University. He taught junior high & high school math & business subjects in the Utica Community Schools for 32 years. In the 1970's, Jerry earned his private pilot license and owned a Piper Tri-pacer airplane. The Millers also loved to travel in their RV
during vacation times. They visited all 50 states, plus many countries on cruises.
After retirement, he lived in Sarasota, Florida and various cities in North Carolina. Jerry was very talented. Besides playing the tuba, he enjoyed doing acrylic paintings, making stain-glass projects, playing tennis, and biking.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents; older sister, Judy Forman; younger brother, Jim Miller; and his oldest son, Glenn. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Catherine Odebia (Debby) Jepson Miller;
their younger son, Ken and wife, Eliisa; and grandsons, Sebastian and Oliver.
Jerryʼs ashes will be placed in the Memorial Garden at Pinehurst United Methodist Church, 4111 Airport Rd.., Pinehurst, NC 28374, after a brief memorial service. Date and time to be determined.
