For most of his life, Spring Street Group Home in Lake City, FL was John's home where he was loved and cared for. John participated in special bowling and Special Olympics. John enjoyed listening to music. He had good friends that he learned to watch out for and was well liked by all those who knew him
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Stewart Cassady of Michigan and Jane Ellen Hildebrand of Florida. He is also survived by three nephews, a niece and eight grand nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James R. Spilman Jr.
