

Millie graduated from Marymount High School in 1951 with longtime friend Lillian Thomas and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland State University, where she double majored in English Literature and History. Millie was a pioneer in the Paralegal field and worked in Cleveland until retiring to Bradenton, FL in 1987.
While in FL, Millie volunteered her services with the Manatee County Guardian Ad Litem and Literacy Programs. Millie also dedicated her writing talents and creativity to her community newsletters; Garden Lakes and Cedar Hollow. In her spare time she enjoyed participating in the Red Hats and various book clubs. Millie will be remembered for her love of books, learning, beautiful smile, flair for dressing, and love for cooking and entertaining.
Millie is survived by four loving children, David, Susan, Daniel, Patricia (husband Steve); one brother, Daniel Carr; five grandchildren, Eric, Meghan, Daniel, Noah, and Margaret; three great grandchildren; who were her joys, Ethan, Andrew and Logan; as well as dear friends, Lillian, Mary, Harriet and Dolly.
Millie is preceded in death by husband, Duane Willis whom she married in 1986 enjoying many happy years until his passing in 2004.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2016 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church;833 Magellan Drive, Sarasota, FL 34243. Inurnment at Sarasota National Cemetery;9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241, will follow.
Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home, is entrusted with final care.
